Creation of Adam

Well,
I do believe that my favorite part was learning how to say "yeah" in sign-language. I will now be going around doing that. The recreation was pretty good, I would have liked to see the camera pointed a little more downwards to put the hands in the middle of the frame- but I love the Jesus is a star song and I love the signing. It's sooo unexpected and really startles you when there is silence and then a "yeah, yeahhh" song!

Once again- I'm glad I learned how to sign "yeah." I'm pretty happy about that.

The music in the second minute was definitely unexpected! The lighting of the hands is great and very similar to that in "The Creation of Adam". I wish the background was more than just a sheet though--maybe a posterboard background painted to look like an aged wall or something that mimicked the background in the painting. Also I thought the hands should have been placed higher up in the composition to match the composition of the original painting.

I think this is a clever interpretation of a classic image.

i love the color you chose for this. i have to disagree with alyson talking about the wall, i think it looks fine and it doesn't distract me, so i guess you COULD do it over, but it's not too serious. i love how the action is really exciting and completely different from the first half. the only thing was, i wasn't sure if it was sign language or shadow puppets.

lol! Nice! Nice lighting, although I think the camera should of been angled higher...? Other than that, the second half was awesome and when I read the comments that it's sign language: thats awesome! Well, first time I was watching this, the second part made think God had to go somewhere real fast and then Adam was like, "party time!" since the music changed and everything. lol. Anyways, great job!

Ahaha, quite the turn around.. seeing that the original piece is more serious, I would never expect random, upbeat music to come out of nowhere, and to see the hands do sign language gestures.. quite ingenious. I enjoyed it. :] On the clever/humorous topic.. you should make another one of the hands playing 'rock, paper, scissors'. xD

I guess I don't have much to add, other than the hands should've been higher on the composition. But I absolutely adore that the music is like Christian pop, and that you meshed it with this really classic religious painting- BRILLIANT! I didn't realize what was going on at first, which I also liked. That element of surprise really works for you. And I have to agree with Rachel- thanks for teaching me some new signs!

(yeahh, yeahh!)

i agree with everyone that the hands should be positioned more like they are in the original, unless you were focusing on the shadows. it would have been cool if you did just the shadows (with the actual arms not visible) and then you could have done shadow puppets. still it is really cool, but i agree with daphne- i thought it was weird that one hand disappears and then the other person's other hand comes in as well.

I love shadow puppets, I hope thats what you were going for. The background color was good, but I don't think it would have been to hard to add some of the details from the painting in there. You have excellent taste in music haha
